Antes que nada, comentaros que los miembros del jurado también son personas y como diríamos en Super Fantasy, tienen su corazoncito. Es decir, no ha sido fácil elegir la propuesta ganadora y como ocurre en estos casos, las opiniones son subjetivas y no podemos decir que la nuestra valga más que la vuestra... Pero, lamentablemente, había que elegir un ganador y pensamos que la propuesta de Peter podía funcionar mejor.
Ahora, sin más dilación, vamos a explicar los motivos de nuestra elección analizando cada propuesta por separado:
- Tomás, Noelia y Rocío.
A FAVOR: El León se encuentra muy activo en esta propuesta, moverlo es muy fácil lo cual supone que tenga un papel muy activo durante la carrera. Eso nos gustó. Era de lo que se trataba...
EN CONTRA: Sin embargo y puede que relacionado con lo anterior, el León eliminaba con cierta facilidad a los avestruces (que volvían a empezar) y eso podía generar “bucles” en la carrera.
- Ian Collier.
A FAVOR: El León tiene un uso bastante compensado, es decir, las consecuencias de su uso estaban bastante equilibradas (básicamente, hacer retroceder a los avestruces pero también, hacerlos avanzar).
EN CONTRA: Por desgracia, vimos que no se utilizaba lo suficiente. En ocasiones, era más conveniente embrujar que utilizar al León. Aunque nos gustaron sus efectos, la tuvimos que desechar.
- Isabel y Sofía Ros.
A FAVOR: El León aquí tiene una función similar a la propuesta de Ian, aunque obviamente hay diferencias, en este caso, aguardaba en la meta, lo que le daba un muy buen sentido temático.
EN CONTRA: Comprobamos que se utilizaba poco. Los avestruces sorteaban la ficha del león con facilidad para entrar rápidamente en la meta.
- Enric Martín.
A FAVOR: Nos gustó mucho eso de ver a un León que entraba como “un elefante en una cacharrería”. Cuando aparecía, los avestruces salían despavoridas y el León podía moverse en cualquier dirección. ¡Un auténtico León! ¡Caos en la carrera!
EN CONTRA: Aunque destacamos que nos lo pasamos muy bien, vimos que en ocasiones podía cazar avestruces con extrema facilidad.
- José Luis Tejo.
A FAVOR: El León tiene su protagonismo y nos gustó la idea de un escudo que ayuda a los avestruces en la carrera. Eso supone, además, agilizarla, lo cual está muy bien.
EN CONTRA: En esta propuesta, tenemos que admitir que hubieron “votos particulares” y como no hubo unanimidad, la tuvimos que desechar... Aunque a unos nos pareció una idea original, a otros (y también tienen razón) les pareció que protección-León-Avestruces no podían ir de la mano. La idea es muy buena para una (nueva) baya, pero quizá no case bien en un León.
- Peter D. Clinch (sí, también hablamos del ganador).
A FAVOR: Nos gustó mucho por varias razones: agiliza la carrera ya que desplaza a los últimos avestruces, el León se utiliza siempre y de una manera compensada (mueve lo justo) y además, supone un peligro constante para los avestruces.
EN CONTRA: Vamos a ser objetivos y tratar de buscar lo que nos gustó menos, al fin y al cabo, nada es perfecto. Comprobamos que el León puede tener efectos bien distintos dependiendo de qué loseta se tenga en cuenta (¿la salida? Puede ser demasiado letal ¿la loseta siguiente? Puede tener una incidencia menor). En cualquier caso, hablaremos con Peter para crear un León “redondo”.
En fin, esperamos haberos convencido con nuestros fundamentos. Insistimos, no es fácil elegir a un ganador, es muy subjetivo.
¿Y ahora que ya tenemos el León qué? ¿Ya ha terminado Banjooli Xeet? Sinceramente, esperamos que no. Hasta ahora ha sido un viaje muy bonito el que hemos disfrutado con vosotros y queremos que Banjooli siga muy vivo... Estamos pensando en más cosas y, como siempre, queremos contar con vuestra participación para que Banjooli siga creciendo. Pero eso sí y ante todo:

We have announced the “A Lion in Banjooli Xeet” Award, this award has gone to Peter D. Clinch. But I suppse you were asking yourselves: “Why Peter's proposal and not this other proposal?”. So, we are going to explain the reasons... The pros and cons of each proposal.
First of all, we have to tell that members of the Jury are persons and as we would say in Super Fantasy, “they have a heart”. That is, it has not been easy to choose a winner and like in other aspects of life, opinions are subjective and we cannot say that ours is better than yours... But, unfortunately, we had to choose a winner and we thought that the Peter's proposal could work better in Banjooli.
And now, without further delay, we are going to explain the reasons of our choice, analysing each proposal separately.
- Tomás, Noelia and Rocío.
PROS: The Lion is very active in this proposal, he is easy to move so he has a very active role during the race. We like that. We want a Lion in that way...
CONS: But related with the stated before, the Lion could kill ostriches easily (they had to start again) and that could cause “loops” in the race.
- Ian Collier.
PROS: The Lion has a balanced use in the race, that is, consequences of using him are compensated (moving ostriches backwards or forwards, in essence).
CONS: Unfortunately, we saw that Lion was not used enough. Sometimes, it was better to spell ostriches than using Lion. So although we like their effects, we had to reject this proposal.
- Isabel and Sofía Ros.
PROS: The Lion is similar to Ian's proposal here, but obviously it has some differences. In this case, Lion was waiting for ostriches behind the Finish line, so it is a good themed proposal.
CONS: But we saw that Lion was not used many times. Ostriches avoided the Lion token to cross fast the Finish line easily.
- Enric Martín.
PROS: We liked very much to see a Lion who is like “a bull in a china shop” (in Spanish we say: “elephant” instead of bull, so it's more related to Banjooli world!) and the Lion could move in any direction also. A true Lion! A chaotic race!
CONS: Although we have to highlight that we had really funny moments, we saw that Lion could hunt and kill ostriches easily.
- José Luis Tejo.
PROS: Lion has importance in this proposal and we liked the idea of Lion as a “shield” which protects ostriches during the race. Besides, this idea supposes that game flows... And we like that.
CONS: We have to admit about this proposal that we had some “dissenting opinions” and because there wasn't unanimity, we had to reject this proposal... Although we saw an original idea to some, others saw that protection-Lion-Ostriches couldn't work together (and they were right too). The idea is pretty good for a (new) berry, but maybe it's strange to see it in a lion.
- Peter D. Clinch (yes, we talk about winner too!).
PROS: We liked very much because of several reasons: The race goes faster because Lion moves the last ostriches, the Lion is always used (every turn) and it's balanced (he moves the appropriate spaces) and lastly, he suppose a constant danger for the ostriches.
CONS: We are trying to be impartial and to say which things we didn't like so much, after all nothing is perfect! We saw that Lion could work in a very different way depending on where the Lion begins (Exit tile? Lion could be deadly, the following tile? Lion could have a minor impact in the game). Anyway, we'll talk with Peter to design a perfect Lion.
So we hope we have convinced you with our reasons. We have to insist: It's not easy to choose a winner, it's subjective!
And now we have the Lion what to do? Is Banjooli Xeet over? Sincerely, we hope not. Until now it has been a really pretty travel in which we have enjoyed with you and we want that Banjooli keeps alive... We are thinking about more things for Banjooli and, as always, we would want to count on you so Banjooli keeps growing! But first of all we would want to say:
